Medieval Times

Perhaps the prairie dress trend was just that..A
trend, but I still love wearing it!!!
I enjoy the romance of a loose floral printed maxi skirt,
and those laced up bodices that are straight out of a fairytale!!
This is quite a unique piece I discovered!
While browsing through a vintage shop I found this unusually green colored dress.
To me this looks to be a Gunnesax dress that had been dyed green.
I think its awesome! I love the green color.
The burgundy velvet trim looks almost royal from a Medieval time period.
I took it to Ireland with me and did an incredible shoot by this big beautiful lake.
I felt like a Princess in this dress!
This summer I'm going to try to make a few prairie inspired looks for myself.
I need more maxi skirts in a lot more colors!
I know by this point we have had way too many trends thrown at us.
The key is to take your favorite looks and mix and match them to what is uniquely you.
Happy Styling!

Lemonade Bliss

For the past few months I've been in the process of putting a Fashion line together.
Its a lot of hard work!
The design development process takes a while.
Its trial and error in experimenting with fabrics, silhouettes, trends, and the cost of production.
This beautiful maxi dress I have on is from the Heather Eliza line.
Its made from Liberty of London Cotton Poplin.
Liberty of London makes the most incredible prints!
The prints are abstract and colorful.
I never thought of cotton as being an exciting fabric to wear until I saw Liberty of London cotton.
Its a shame we don't see more Liberty of London prints on the market today!
Its finely woven, and dyed to perfection!
This dress is the most unique color.
Its not mint, but more of a Lemonade color.
That's why I called it the Lemonade Maxi Dress!
It has a tropical floral print for a garden party,
Island get away,or destination wedding you could wear it to.
The best part about this dress?
Plenty of fabric and seams for fit and flare!
Summer dresses should have a fair amount of fabric in them for drape.
Its a high end maxi dress that's costly,
but you'll keep it forever and get so much wear out of it!
I hate throwing clothes in the garbage.
It pollutes the earth, and wastes our hard earned money.
My goal with the Heather Eliza line,
is to give you a few beautiful pieces for your closet out of the finest fabrics.
All of these garments will be manufactured in the USA saving our precious garment industry that's currently hanging on by a thread.
The Heather Eliza website is still under development, but
You can find this dress at shabbybabe.com.
More new pieces from the line will be up on the shabbybabe website next week.

Hopeless Romantic

Valentines Day is just 1 day away!
I think in the middle of February,
we all need just a hint of romance to get out of the winter blues.
This silk chiffon sunset floral dress is a statement of romance!
I love the butterfly sleeves and plunging neckline.
The dress is fitted around the waist and hips, and flares into layers of sheer silk floral heaven.
I had a lot of fun in this dress dancing around the beach on a windy day.
These photos truly captured the drape and design of it.
I hope everyone has a happy Valentines day this year.
Even if you don't have a valentine, treat yourself to some romance this weekend with
flowers, chocolates, and a romantic floral dress.

Mermaid Sighting

Theres a beach lover in all of us!
I know I can't get enough of the beautiful beaches in summer.
I'm there every weekend soaking up the sun.
I was lucky enough to experience the California beaches over the summer.
They are spectacular!
The beaches of Cali have big beautiful rocks, clear blue water, and the most golden soft sand.
I found the ultimate sheer blue dress that a mermaid would wear!
I wore this peacock feather print boho chic dress from Shabbybabe over my bathing suit.
I put on a gold mesh metallic belt with a tribal fringe necklace.
I feel like if a mermaid did get washed ashore she'd wear this dress too ha ha.
Its a vintage 70s dress but truly looks brand new.
The dress is made out of silk so the drape is perfect for a windy day.
This beach was like something out of a dream.
I was the only one there that day, and I loved it!
I had a blast shooting this Look book.
Theres nothing like watching the sunset over the ocean as the day ends.
