The Beach Bar

Happy Thursday! How have you been enjoying your summer so far?
My favorite part of summer is having a drink by the beach!
Recently I traveled to Asbury Park,NJ to hang at the beach bar.
I wore a geometric multi color abstract dress.
Its the perfect dress to wear on the boardwalk!
I received so many compliments!
I wish I had 8 more of these abstract dresses in different colors.
I can't wait to get back to the design studio to design more cute wrap dresses!
Whats your favorite look for summer? Everybody has their own preference.
I'm looking forward to more fun beach adventures in the next couple months.

Velvet Sunset

Happy Memorial Day weekend!! Its finally time to enjoy the outdoors this year.
This holiday weekend I decided to relax,go hiking,
and most importantly enjoy a few good barbecues!!
Velvet can be a winter look to wear, but when I saw this lavender velvet at the fabric store
I knew I had to to have a cute short sleeve top made out of it.
I sewed this amazing short sleeve velvet blouse for my spring and summer wardrobe!
Its a nice light weight velvet and the color is incredible!!
Enjoy your 3 day weekend and Happy Friday!!

Medieval Times

Perhaps the prairie dress trend was just that..A
trend, but I still love wearing it!!!
I enjoy the romance of a loose floral printed maxi skirt,
and those laced up bodices that are straight out of a fairytale!!
This is quite a unique piece I discovered!
While browsing through a vintage shop I found this unusually green colored dress.
To me this looks to be a Gunnesax dress that had been dyed green.
I think its awesome! I love the green color.
The burgundy velvet trim looks almost royal from a Medieval time period.
I took it to Ireland with me and did an incredible shoot by this big beautiful lake.
I felt like a Princess in this dress!
This summer I'm going to try to make a few prairie inspired looks for myself.
I need more maxi skirts in a lot more colors!
I know by this point we have had way too many trends thrown at us.
The key is to take your favorite looks and mix and match them to what is uniquely you.
Happy Styling!

Blue Angel

Now that its spring a lot of us are thinking about what styles to choose for our wardrobe.
An off the shoulder peasant dress is one of my favorite styles to wear!!
I enjoy those renaissance Medieval looks.
I always go bohemian for summer.
I enjoy wearing fabrics like Gauze,denim,leather, sheer chiffon's,and rayon's.
This denim blue gauze dress is one of my own designs!!
I made this myself and it will be available on shabbybabe.com next week.
If theres one thing I'm always in search for and never find,
its a cute denim blue mini dress.
I love that this dress is comfortable, and easy to get in and out of.
One thing I know for sure is extremely tight clothing in the summer is a no go.
That's true for me anyway.
I love boots, but this dress would look just as beautiful with sandals or flats.
I'm currently working on more cute pieces for the collection.
Each one is very feminine and sweet!

Denim Couture

The landscapes of Ireland are so fairytale!!
Every road and path looks like an old castle road.
On this chilly morning in Ireland I just wasn't in the mood to put on a dress.
Being that it was the day for boots and jeans I wanted to shoot this adorable denim bustier top!
This is one of my own designs thats available on the Shabbybabe Etsy store.
Its a fun piece! I love anything thats denim!
I sewed this leather beret to match.
Surprisingly the bustier top truly fit the Medieval theme of the Irish landscape.
I needed darker makeup for the shoot too.
I don't wear darker shades of lipstick enough as I should.
As I've mentioned before,
"Violetta" by MAC is one of my most favorite darker lipsticks.
Its not too dark and not too hot pink.
I highly suggest it if your looking for something fresh and colorful for a lipstick.
Hope your enjoying the month of April as much as I am.
Theres so much more to come in May,
that I'm so excited to share with you!
