Smokey Harem

The holidays are finally behind us!
Now to focus on a beach get away for the winter.
Whether you plan on vacationing or not,
its always a good idea to start planning ahead for warmer days!
I recently made this black silk velvet burnout shawl.
I love the way it came out.
I wanted to do something fun and creative while shooting it,
so I put it together with one of my favorite bikinis from Victoria's Secret.
I never wore a shawl as a beach cover before but I love how the look turned out!
It has a Victorian, Gothic art deco feel about it.
This shawl will be up for sale soon on Shabbybabe.com
It can be used for evening wear, beach wear, or even as a scarf throughout the day.
I'm so happy we caught the sunset during this beach shoot.
I wanted to capture the iridescent colors and textures.

Autumn Beach

I love layering for fall! Denim jackets are always a must for me.
Denim is so soft and comfy.
Even though its the start of fall,
summer hasn't ended for me yet.
Just last week I got some sun and went for a swim.
I wore this vintage blue western button up shirt over my bikini.
This made a fabulous beach cover.
It didn't even get dirty or filled with sand.
This could be a men's western wear shirt but I think it looks great on a woman.
I love taking menswear and making it into something feminine.
Of course I added touch of sparkle and metallics with some of my favorite jewelry pieces.
Summer may be over on the calendar but not in my heart.

Bohemian Paradise

I'm loving this amazing floral print cold shoulder top!
I designed it myself for the Heather Eliza line.
Its made from cotton silk.
Originally this was supposed to be a blouse to wear with jeans or leggings but it looked amazing as  beach cover, so I decided to make into a beach piece instead.
Wearing the aqua bikini underneath was accidental.
Surprisingly this entire outfit went together unplanned.
Its one of my favorite looks in the bohemian glitter blog so far!
Everything about this look is so perfect!
Imagine wearing this beach cover on a tropical island or a gorgeous Island cruise!
It doesn't even wrinkle! I had to pack this blouse up in a suitcase to shoot it on the beach and it looked like new even after unpacking it.
Its so important to have wrinkle resistant clothes when we travel.
Nothing is more of a headache then unpacking a dress and its all wrinkled.
You can find this gorgeous beach top for sale at shabbybabe.com and on the shabbybabe Etsy store
Its my favorite look so far!!

Japanese Silk

Being the beach addict I am, I'm constantly shopping for jewelry, bikinis, and cover ups!
I've recently gotten into wearing Kimonos for beach cover ups.
I think theres something so unique about wearing a kimono over your bikini!
Its much more fun than throwing on a t-shirt.
I shop for vintage Japanese Kimonos.
Most of the Japanese kimonos run large which is perfect!
They come in bright colors with gorgeous Asian prints.
Unfortunately the vintage Japanese kimonos can get expensive,
so I only have collected a few so far.
When I was at Huntington beach,
I wore my bright Fuchsia embroidered Asian robe as a cover up.
It was gorgeous!
This robe totally matched the Cali sunset in these photos!
It has golden floral embroidery, and a gold silk lining.
It looked great on over my bikini.
I didn't think this kimono was going to work but it worked out great!
Boho beach style never looked so good!

Summer of Love

Wedding season has approached us!
Theres nothing I love more than a fairytale fantasy wedding.
A lot of brides choose to have a destination wedding these days.
The beach weddings are my favorite!
There are so many possibilities in choosing a dress for a beach wedding.
It could be a mini, maxi, vintage, boho,or lace dress.
I happened to find the most beautiful beach right off of Big Sur in California!
I don't think this beach had a name, but it was the perfect place to have a private beach wedding Ceremony. I wore this cotton crochet handkerchief hem dress that day.
I love the design lines in this dress! Its trimmed with ribbon and has floral embroidery along the waistline. The dress doesn't even need shoes. I felt like a beach princess in this dress.
Comfort is key on the day of your wedding.
This dress is 100% Cotton making it great for a hot summer day.
Make your wedding into a work of art this summer and just have fun!
